Refugee Economic Independence Program (REIP)
The Refugee Economic Independence Program (REIP) was developed in 2006 in response to the serious and specific needs of African refugee families in the Memphis area. It offers a variety of both children’s and adult services designed to help refugees assimilate into the community.

Miriam Child Development Center
Children have always been an integral part of UNMC’s ministry, with day care services being offered to the community as early as 1907. Over a century later, that core vision has evolved into a full-service child development center for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years.

The Susanna Wesley Senior Day Care and Alzheimer’s Center
Scheduled to open in late 2008, the Susanna Wesley Senior Day Care and Alzheimer’s Center will offer senior day care for elderly residents of Memphis’ uptown neighborhood who cannot afford private day care services.

Social Services
UMNC provides a wide range of social services to residents of the Memphis community, assisting over 30,000 families and individuals in 2006. Six Social Service Centers throughout Shelby County help address physical, financial and emotional needs.
