United Methodist Neighborhood Centers of Memphis, Inc., (UMNC) will celebrate its “New Vision for New Days” fundraising campaign with a “New Vision Celebration” on Sunday, March 1, at 2:30 p.m. at Emmanuel UMC(2404 Kirby Road) in Memphis, Tenn.
UMNC is an agency of the Memphis conference of the United Methodist Church that serves the Memphis, Tenn., area through various outreach efforts including childcare and programs to alleviate hunger and poverty.
Last fall UMNC undertook a “New Vision for New Days” fundraising campaign that far exceeded its original $50,000 goal. Read more here.
According to Dr. Mark Matheny, UMNC missioner, the “New Vision Celebration” on March 1 will include updates on the UMNC mission, along with opportunities for people to support Phase Two of the fundraising campaign. The Singing Preachers (debut performance), an ensemble from Maranata UMC and children from the Miriam Child Development Center (part of UMNC) will provide music.
The celebration also will include a silent auction, organized by the Key Women of UMNC, and following the celebration, there will be a reception with refreshments in the church parlor.
“This is a celebration of Phase One of the ‘New Vision’s focus that was highly successful last Fall, as well as the opening round of Phase II for UMNC for 2015 and beyond,” said Matheny. “This will be a heartwarming time together and should make us all humbly grateful to be part of God’s mission to people in need.”
There is no charge for the March 1 celebration, but organizers will take up an offering and provide opportunities for attendees to pledge gifts to UMNC.
