O God, the creator and preserver of all mankind; we humbly beseech Thee for all sorts and conditions of men; that Thou wouldst be pleased to make Thy ways known unto them, Thy saving health unto all nations.
More especially, we pray for Thy holy Church universal, that it may be so guided and governed by Thy Spirit, that all who profess and call themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth, and hold the faith in unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in righteousness of life.
Finally, we commend to Thy fatherly goodness all those who are in any way afflicted or distressed in mind, body, or estate; that it may please Thee to comfort and relieve them according to their necessities, giving them patience under their suffering, and a happy issue out of all their afflictions. And this we ask for Jesus Christ’s sake. Amen
(2 Corinthians 12:9) And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
(Psalms 34:17-20) [The righteous] cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
(1 Corinthians 10:13) There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].
(James 5:11) Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
(Philippians 4:13) I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
