VBS at St. Luke’s was a HUGE success for our After-Schooler’s! We had about 16 students join St. Luke’s nearly 100 children for an exciting week of vacation bible school. We all, kids and teachers, had a lot of fun singing songs meeting new people and getting to learn about God! Soon to be third grader Mohamed Kone got to close the second day in prayer, which was a blessing for him and the Miriam Center; it is always a touching the first time you get to see a child pray in public on their own.
The kids also were able to bring canned goods for St. Luke’s food pantry Ramon noodles and pop top canned fruit. This not only allowed us to encourage St. Luke’s in our common goal of serving those who hunger but also gave us the “teachable moment” to talk about the importance of giving, no matter where you find yourself in life. Thank you to all who helped make it an enlightening experience for all involved.
