Ecclesiastes 3:17b: for there is a time then for every purpose and every work.

Karen Shine is our Volunteer Coordinator working with agencies that require “community service hours.”    Since February 2011 UMNC has trained 101individuals in Career Steps a component of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) “welfare-to-work” program.  UMNC also works with Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole clients fulfilling community service hours as part of their court sentence or rehabilitation.

Our Career Step volunteers also participate in workshops focusing on job search skills, resume building, better parenting, workplace etiquette, time management and teamwork.

Mrs. Shine advises transitioning volunteers on career options and access to educational programs. Stop in and see Mrs. Shine
